A great single from DFA signees Free Blood, drawing on brilliant, anything goes no-wave stylings for 'Paragatang', which although sounds well within the parameters of the DFA remit, goes a little further into experimental territory. Tim 'Love' Lee glosses over the more chaotic elements and reshapes the beat into a more organised arrangement. Next comes 'Weekend Condition', another supremely odd composition, situating itself somewhere between Foals, TV On The Radio and Hot Chip. The Scotty Coats & Wes The Mes remix does little to knock some sense into the track, rounding off an admirably strange EP...www.boomkat.com
