The producer of the crucial 502 drop 'Shawty' - lean, moody and starlit garage-techno at its finest - decamps to Ramp Recordings for this stinging 4-track EP. You never really know what you're going to get from Teeth, except for the fact that it's going to be at once crisp and dubbed-out to all f*ck, and sure enough this 12" is all over the place, in the best possible sense. 'Frequencies' opens the ceremony tentatively, creating a captivating ambience out of little more than jeep-wobbling subs and eldritch vocal moans, one which sets the tone for 'OJ', a thumping garage roller brought to life by skeletal breakbeats peeling off its surface and a middle section of epic synth arpeggiation. The 808-heavy 'SW' begins like the meta-R&B of Rustie or Hud Mo if minimalism (rather than its opposite) was their watch-word, but Teeth's commitment to uptempo 4/4 ultimately takes it to somewhere entirely, and then '19eme' sees us out with scuffed techno chords riding a rugged 2-step flex.
