Korallreven - As Young As Yesterday

1. As Young As Yesterday
2. As Young As Yesterday (Panda Bear Remix)
3. As Young As Yesterday (Girl Unit Remix)
4. The Final Fantasy

Take a moment to honor Swedish Balearic beat-minders Korallreven’s Class A assemblage of talent on their new “As Young As Yesterday” 12″: The track itself features vocals from oft-collaborator Victora Bergsman, and and the extended single boasts remixes from Panda Bear and pinnacle Night Slug producer Girl Unit, he of the world-beating club track “Wut.” You’ve heard Panda’s ambient take; Girl Unit’s is, conversely, more appropriate for bodily movement...www.stereogum.com

King Midas Sound - Kuedo And Mala Versions

1. Goodbye Girl (Kuedo Remix)
2. Earth a Kill Ya (Mala Remix)

With a year passed since the release of King Midas Sound's Waiting For You LP, it might seem a bit late for remixes of its tracks, but to be honest these brutal versions from Mala and Kuedo instantly justify themselves. Mala goes for a rootical halfstep sound on his rub of 'Earth A Kill Ya', keeping Roger Robinson's dread pronouncements centre-stage but arming them with Terminator synths and scuttling woodblock polyrhythms that invoke classic DMZ. Kuedo (Jamie Vex'd) excels himself with his mix of 'Goodbye Girl', delivering an epic, gritty R&B smackdown, all bone-crunching subs, squealing synths and ghosted vocal snippets - like the evil older brother of Joker's purple funk. Unmissable 12" for the serious bass heads...www.boomkat.com

Distal - Boss of the South EP

1. Boss of the South
2. Coke Bottle
3. Boss of the South (Sinden Remix)
4. Boss of the South (Capracara's South of Heaven Remix)
5. Coke Bottle (Wheez-ie Remix 1)
6. Coke Bottle (Wheez-ie Remix 2)

Distal's arrived in a big way in 2011, and his debut for Sinden's Grizzly is possibly his strongest release yet. 'Boss Of the South' is fractally busy yet solidly rolling, flicking in fragments of mentasms, 8-bit chirrups and Jukin' sample stabs, while the muscular, rolling subs lock it down for the dance, and 'Coke Bottle' works percolating Toms like Chicago's finest, but with a laidback Southern tilt that's more compatible with UK 'floors. Remixing, Sinden evens the keel with a rollin' 4/4 rework of 'Boss…' and Capracara drops some sexy New Jersey swing vibes with a kinky infusion of rave dirt, while Wheez-ie freaks out two uptempo Footwork versions of 'Coke Bottle'...www.boomkat.com

Untold - Bones (Joe / Rockwell Remixes)

A1 Bones (Joe’s Bones)
B1 Bones (Rockwell Remix)

Two heavweight remixes of man like Untold from two of the finest young producers out there, Joe and Rockwell. The mysterious Joe has released nothing but aces on Hessle Audio and Apple Pips, and here he squeezes Untold's 'Bones' into one of his customary taut, minimal stepper templates, one which for all its subtlety packs floor-crushing weight and elasticity. Rockwell's scuttling d 'n b reductions have resulted in some of the most arresting dance music of the past two years. Here he goes for a broader, more pummelling treatment than is usual for him, but listen loud and the full depth of the refix becomes clear - astonishing attention to detail, faultless engineering, all with a mind to tearing up the dance. Big!...www.boomkat.com

Nguzunguzu - Timesup EP

01. Timesup
02. Water Bass Power
03. Wake Sleep
04. Timesup (Kingdom Remix)
05. Wake Sleep (Total Freedom Winter Park Homicide Edition)

Big release from Kingdom's new American wing of Night Slugs, the Fade To Mind imprint. Nguzunguzu make the first incision with three lean and agile, synth-drippin' bangers, backed by nexx-level Kingdom and Total Freedom remixes. Hailing from LA, Nguzunguzu have built a very solid reputation over the last 12 months or so with remixes for Lazer Sword and Rainbow Arabia, plus nuff spins from players like Bok Bok and Kingdom. Their style here is efficient and shark-eyed, dippin' between the deceptively light and skippy 'Timesup' to the whirlpool synthlines and hydraulic sub pressure of 'Water Bass Power' and the abstract mystery of 'Wake Sleep'. Remixing, Kingdom adds a signature lick of R&B gloss and sunken subs, whilst the awesome Total Freedom version almost reminds of Raime's approach to ultra-sparse rhythm architecture. Really feeling this...www.boomkat.com

Osunlade - Envision Remixes

1. Envision (Âme Remix)
2. Envision (Âme Acoustic Remix)
3. Envision (Dixon Version)

"Envision," from Osunlade's Pyrography, really didn't need all that much work to wind up on an Innervisions 12-inch: between the slinky tempo, the organic instrumentation and the soulfully off-the-cuff vocals, the track is basically tailor-made for a Dixon rinse. So it's hardly surprising that three of Innervision's top dogs, Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann of Âme and the aforementioned Dixon, have stepped in to bring "Envision" fully into their universe with a remix package.

Âme make a few slight but critical adjustments, upping the slink factor with streamlined percussion and building to a proper, if boilerplate, big-room climax. It's a moment that, despite the remix's extended runtime, doesn't quite feel earned. The duo's precise "Acoustic Mix," which never blasts off but reserves the right to, is the more interesting prospect. Dixon's version keeps to Âme's playbook, minus some of their elegance and restraint. As the Innervisions crew has imagined it, "Envision" is still a very strong track, but those who already invested in Pyrography shouldn't feel obligated to add these three somewhat less than essential mixes to their collection. DJs who didn't grab it the first time around, though? That's a different story...www.residentadvisor.net

Daedelus - Overwhelmed EP

01 Overwhelmed
02 Overwhelmed (Star Slinger Remix)
03 Overwhelmed (Raffertie Remix)
04 Tailor-Made (Sepalcure Remix)
05 Overwhelmed (Raffertie Dub)

Typically bonkers, bracing EP from Daedelus. 'Overwhelmed' is so packed with ideas it's actually pretty gross: a breakbeat-driven, electro-pop noise-fest, complete with warped technoid synths, crooning soul vocals and pretty much everything else save the kitchen sink. All four remixers on board thankfully strip things down a tad: Star Slinger delivers arguably his finest production yet, accentuating the heart-rending song at the heart of Daedelus's chaotic original, casing it inside with a neat stepping rhythm and shading with nice crepuscular pads. Raffertie's hypercolour refix also gives the vocals room to breathe, this time in a synthed-out wonky confection that constantly threatens to go UKG but actually maintains its tense mid-paced skank to the very end; the groove - not to mention its tropical dressing - comes across even more impressively on the dub. Perhaps inevitably, Sepalcure provide the most sensitive and quietly devastating version, starting out heavy on the third and the moody keys before swelling to a sleek house finish, accented with compressed breakbeats, fills and spectral juke vocal loops that recall Stewart's recent Machinedrum productions...www.boomkat.com

Bambounou - Alpha EP

1. Alpha
2. Dock Request
3. Heroïc Deeds
4. Divided By Zero
5. Alpha (Teeth Remix)
6. Dock Request (Lunice Remix)
7. Heroi C Deeds (Darling Farah Remix)
8. Divided By Zero (Ikonika Remix)

“Bambounou is back among humanoids, after covering the entire world bewitching it with animist incantations, the kid, a bit less kiddy but still wild and genuine in his productions and dj sets, comes back to tell you about his obsession for repetition, perpetuals motions and animated gifs. A dark and paradoxically extremely warm EP, an eclipse, a black sun using all of your senses, even the 6th until burning your eardrums with his shady UV radiations. Four originals tracks which takes you to a sweaty, violent, sometimes sexy but never emotionless self communion, this work will certainly not let you unharmed. Talents discoverer and mental explorer, after a world tour of influences he picked up artists to remix this EP: Lunice (Canada), Teeth (Finland), Ikonika (England) and Darling Farah (Middle East) are each revisiting, in a very personal way, the originals tracks but still keeping the first aim, to fuck your mind and your heart all this summer.”...www.discobelle.net

John Beltran - Brilliant Flood (Kassem Mosse & Sven Weisemann Remixes)

1. Brilliant Flood (Kassem Mosse & Mix Mup Remix)
2. Nephilas Oneiric (Svens Glorify Tribute Mix To John Beltran)

Opulent reworks of classic ambient Techno moments from John Beltran's revered catalogue. Side A, Kassem Mosse & Mix Mup remake 'Brilliant Flood' from his 2006 album 'Human Engine', adding chunky, punchy Toms and a signature supple bassline push to the blue melody of the original. On the other side Sven Weisemann offers his 'Anticipation' tribute, a fluid patchwork of elements from various Beltran releases forming a dreamily epic nine minute masterpiece in three parts...www.boomkat.com

Radiohead - The King of Limbs Remix pt.4

1. Give Up The Ghost (Thriller Houseghost RMX)
2. Codex (Illum Sphere RMX)
3. Little By Little (Shed RMX)

Another sterling crop of mixes selected by Radiohead for their extended 'King Of Limbs' revisions. In pole position, Thriller (possibly Actress, maybe Lukid, or both?) duppy 'Give Up The Ghost' as an hypnotically introverted 'Houseghost' roller, Thom's vox evaporated into a spectral mist of moans around aquatically displaced and murkily filtered 4/4 beat. Next, Illum Sphere's remix of 'Codex' is imbued with a more rainy day vibe, rendering the emotive elegance of the original with a subtly minimalist, almost baroque rhythm comparable with recent Zomby styles, but with spacious, widescreen diffusions. Craftiest of the lot is Shed's moiré-like rearrangement of 'Little By Little', where whirring post-hardcore rhythms sync with subliminal bass shapes and mesmerizing loops to play-it-again effect. Best in the series so far - big recommendation...www.boomkat.com

Femme En Fourrure - Bronco EP

1. Bronco
2. Smear
3. Bronco (Nguzunguzu Remix)
4. Bronco (Teeth Remix)
5. Bronco (Square Mode Remix)

The Finnish duo, Femme En Fourrure, just released their brand-new EP, “Bronco” on Top Billin Records. The EP so generously encircles 5 tracks: two originals from FEF themselves, alongside a few elevating remixes from Teeth, Square Mode, and the L.A. duo, Nguzunguzu. All very intriguing tracks in the house, techno, funk family!...www.xlr8r.com

Mount Kimbie - Carbonated

01. Carbonated
02. Flux
03. Brave's Chords
04. Adriatic (Klaus Remix)
05. Carbonated (Airhead Remix)
06. Carbonated (Peter Van Hoesen Remix)

Lovely new single from Mount Kimbie, backed with new tracks and remixes from Peter van Hoesen, Klaus, and Airhead. 'Carbonated' was one of the standout tracks on the last album, with its flickering 2-step rhythm under dainty melodies in a baroque Bass 'n Soul style similar to recent Zomby moves, whereas new track 'Flux' is more smudged and aquatic with a free-formed arrangement akin to an abstracted Falty DL cut, while 'Bave's Chords' bumps pastoral guitar licks under decaying 808 pulses. The remixes are equally crafty, from the Francisco López-like textures of Klaus's 'Adriatic' remix, to the sturdy Garage-Techno swing of PvH's 'Carbonated' version, and Airhead's ultra-sparse steppers simulation...www.boomkat.com

Sepalcure - Love Pressure Remixed

1. Love Pressure (XI remix)
2. Love Pressure (FaltyDL remix)
3. Every Day Of My Life (Jimmy Edgar Remix)
4. Down (Daedelus Remix)
5. Love Pressure (Lando Kal Remix)

Three tracks by Sepalcure get reworked by a starry cast of remixers numbering Jimmy Edgar, FaltyDL, XI, Lando Kal and Daedaeus. The work of Sepalcure - that's the duo of Travis 'Machinedrum' Stewart and Praveen Sharma - straddles the crossroads of dubstep, UKG, house, hip-hop and a kind of toughed-up future-soul, and the remixes they've commissioned here are suitably diverse. Toronto dubstep talent XI is given top billing with his remix of 'Love Pressure' and he does himself proud, creating a spacious, silken skanker with heart-swelling, floor-sweeping synth progressions to die for - emotive, nicely engineered stuff. FaltyDL - who can do no wrong for us right now - services the same track, this time in a ruggedly emotive breakbeat techno fashion, somewhere between vintage Dego and recent Shake. Superb. Jimmy Edgar weighs in with a fix of 'Every Day Of My Life', that First Choice sample so seminally deployed by Rufige Cru here repurposed as fuel for an obscenely funked-up electro-techno fix that must count among Edgar's most squarely floor-aimed productions to date. Daedelus is in an even more playful, unpredictable mood than usual for his rework of 'Down', which flits hyperactively from slouchy half-step to high-speed junglizm - at first just disorienting, when it's over you realise what a magnificent feat of production it actually is. Lazer Sword's Lando Kal closes out the package with a slick, steely version of 'Love Pressure', a hugely absorbing 4/4 stepper invested with some well-judged US R&B sass...www.boomkat.com

Lee Foss - Turn Your Girl (The Remixes)

1. Your Turn Girl (Shonky & Dyed Soundorom Remix)
2. Pyramid Girl (Anthony Collins' ''Your Turn Girl Vs Pyramid Sheme'' Remix)
3. Things Fall Apart (Seuil's Remix)

A remix package this may be but it clearly falls under the Culprit mantra of exploring newground. Shonky and Dyed, though best friends in real life, pair up for only their second everjoint production. Anthony Collins not content with remixing one track, in fact delivers a truemélange, by remixing both Your Turn Girl and Pyramid Scheme into something wonderfullynew and different in Pyramid Girl. Seuil perhaps best know for his skittish, intricate rhythmsakin to Ricardo Villalobos, explores new territory with his remix of Things Fall Apart, showcasing an unexpected deep retro, New-Wave inspired sonic side of his palette. All fourartists effortlessly compliment Foss warm yet ominous funk...www.beatport.com

John Daly – Meltdown Remixes

01. Meltdown (QRN Re-Melt)
02. Meltdown (Echologist Dub)

John Daly's Meltdown gets the remix treatment! 2 awesome remixes from 2 awesome producers. On the A side QRN aka Quarion turns out a pure deep house MPC jam, while on the AA Echologist aka Brendon Moeller takes things down the dub techno road with a right club banger. Both of these remixes were constructed from sampling the B side tools of the original, direct from vinyl...no parts here, just straight up raw shit, re-edit style. Recommended!...www.clone.nl

Radiohead - The King of Limbs Remix pt.3

1. Feral (Lone Remix)
2. Morning Mr Magpie (Pearson Sound Scavenger Remix)
3. Separator (Four Tet Remix)

Lone, Pearson Sound and Four Tet come correct for a third Radiohead remix session sprung from 'The King Of Limbs'. Frontside Lone remixes 'Feral' as a humid simulation of hybrid Funky/Techno drums with a cascading waterfall breakdown and pharmaceutically synthesized vibes all the way. Heading further out, Pearson Sound's Scavenger remix of 'Morning Mr Magpie' spreads out the intro of pastoral, glistening synth washes and tentative subs before balling into futurist FunkyXFootwork mechanics. Most impressive, however is Four Tet's 'Separator' remix, gliding Thom Yorke over warm and woozy synth convections and shuffled Drag rhythms. Smart...www.boomkat.com

Paperclip People - PE 20 Remixes: 4 My Peepz

01. 4 My Peepz (Dubfire Rework)
02. Parking Garage Politics (Loco Dice Remix)

One of Carl Craig's trillion monikers is Paperclip People and here, the Detroit don serves up the 4 My Peepz EP on his own label Planet E, remixed by two of the biggest names in the game: Dubfire and Loco Dice. Pounding, head strong and dirty techno is on the menu and Dubfire's rework of "4 My Peepz", despite its almost hip-hop-esque title, sticks firmly to the underground with its heavy kick drums and whirring sirens. Up "Parking Garage Politics" gets a remix from Loco Dice; minimal and sparse as it is, it's constructed in just the right way as it builds and progresses into a thoroughly hypnotic affair - Juno's pick of the two. Highly recommended stuff...www.boomkat.com

Jacques Greene - Another Girl

01. Another Girl
02. Holdin' On (Braiden Remix)
03. The Look (Mark Flash UR Remix)

LuckyMe drop one of the most anticipated dancefloor 12"s of the last 12 months, backed up with remixes of tracks from 'The Look' by Rinse FM's Braiden and UR's Mark Flash. There's no need to bang on about 'Another Girl', it's straight anthem material combining ohrwurming vocal, a a rolling emotional topography and dancing neon melodies in beautiful style. Flip it and Braiden gives a tough rework of 'Holdin' On', full of titanium cowbells, rampant R1 Ryders style bass revs and chopped vocals, but UR's Mark Flash steals the show with a Hi-tek, carnival-killing remix of 'The Look'. Very large 12"!!!...www.boomkat.com
